So by now most of you may be wondering what happened to all that money I collected at the end of the year for a party.



Well I'll tell you.



We spent it on a picnic to which only seniors were invited.




Why did we do this?



Because the attendance record of the sophmores was abysmal at best. I can cite several instances when photoshoots consisted of only one or two sophmores and of course all of the things we never got to do because of lack of interest (Evin Thayer, chronicle guy).

Dina Gavin and I decided that rather than waste our time trying to find everone to return the money and frustrated at the lack of sucess in other PAT endevours decided to do something rash and spontaneous. It was 2 am on a Sunday morning and we were at IHop after seeing an especially violent Kung Fu movie. Our brains were understandably rattled.


Anyway I collected way too much money to return it from my own personal funds, and I don't think it's fair that I should do so.


This is because we did spend the money on a party like we said we would. As far as use of money goes we have done nothing wrong. The only fault on our part is neglecting to invite sophmores.

When each of you donated your money (however much it was) you assumed a certain amount of risk. Assuming everything went to plan and we had had a party, even those who did not attend would not be entitled to a refund. The point is that you willingly donated money to PAT for a specific purpose and as that money was used for that purpose I have fulfilled my obligation as Treasurer for PAT. Whether or not you enjoy the fruits of that money is not my responsibility. When the party was cancelled you could and should have contacted someone about retrieving your money.


But since you're all sophmores/juniors I'll cut you some slack.


I cannot repay all of you individually as I said before.


But what I can do is donate money to PAT for next year. But I need proof that ALL of you are serious about PAT.


So if you can prove to me that you're serious, I'll donate $20 of my own money to PAT.


Hint: An increase in picture posts would be a great way to show me that you're all serious photographers.
